Teddy Bear Picnic

Teddy bear's picnic will take place on Wednesday 24th June for all Junior and Senior Infants. Children can bring in a teddy bear of choice to join them on the picnic.

Sports Day Update 2026

Sport's day has been postponed until next week. Wednesday 17th Senior Infants 9.15am Thursday 18th Junior Infants 9.15am Friday 19th First and Second Class 9.15am

Maths Eyes Art Work

An art Gallery in the the halla marked a celebratory end to this year's Maths Week celebrations! We were thrilled to showcase a wonderful display of Junk Art creations by our talented First Class students in the halla. Every child had the opportunity to visit and admire the imaginative designs on show. Children from 2nd Class also worked collaboratively on Mandala creations using objects foraged from nature walks.

Scoil Carmel's Sensory Gym

The official opening of our new Sensory Gym on Monday evening was a momentous occasion for Scoil Carmel. It was lovely to see so many staff and parents in attendance. This is indicative of the ongoing support we have in Scoil Carmel. It is a state of the art Sensory Gym which will be a magnificent asset to our school. Beebot Day

On Friday, we had Beebot Day! We starting using the Beebots purchased through the STEM grant we received from the Department of Education. Having Beebots as a resource will help us to support the children to become digital learners in a cross curricular way, with a foous on numeracy and literacy activities. Beebots also help up to collaborate, problem solve, use our initiative, develop our critical thinking skills, communicate and work as a team.

Painting and Decorating

We had professional painters in at the start of the first week of the Easter holidays for three days. They painted the walls around the Junior Infant section of the school, upstairs and the stairwells. They also painted the staff toilets. They did a great job and the place looks bright and fresh! Brian, our fabulous caretaker painted the pupils’ toilets on the front corridor.

Multisensory Room, Sensory Gym and Playground Equipment

We are delighted to have a new multisensory room installed in Room 28. It is absolutely fantastic. Thanks to Ms Fitzmaurice, Sinead, Caroline and Brian for preparing the room in advance.
