Maths Eyes

In Scoil Carmel, the children are encouraged to use their "Maths Eyes" and appreciate that maths is not just about sums on a page but it is all around us!

To use their "Maths Eyes", they enagage in hands on learning with practical and interactive lessons that have an emphasis how maths is integrated with other subjects and experiences in life.

For example when learning about shapes, they are encouraged to see shapes in their environment such as circle traffic lights, cuboid lunchboxes and square sandwiches.

Celebrating the 100th Day of School and Maths Week is a great way to get creative and encourage the children to see Maths all around them!
